Monroe wore the green velour dress while she sang 'I'm Gonna File My Claim' in the 1954 Western in which she portrayed Kay Washington, a gambler's wife.


A black silk crepe cocktail dress, thought to be the same one she wore for a July 1958 press conference promoting the film Some Like It Hot,

Jean Louis designed the 1962 gown, covering it in sequins. With a nude hue that matched Marilyn's skin tone, the dress was so form-fitting that the star had to be sewn into it before she serenaded John F. Kennedy. Tragically, the icon's flirty performance took place just three months before she died.

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY
