Sinusitis is quite annoying and unpleasant. Unfortunately, this infection is pretty common; about 37 million Americans suffer from sinusitis every year.
Sinus infections are actually an inflammation that affects the lining of sinus cavities.It is caused by colds, flu, bacteria or allergies. However, that does not necessarily mean that you have to stuff yourself with conventional drugs.
There is a great number of natural and effective remedies for sinusitis.
4 DIY home remedies for sinusitis
1. Apple cider vinegar
It is extremely potent in the treatment of sinusitis. As it is one of the many uses of apple cider vinegar, most people prefer the effectiveness of apple cider vinegar in the treatment of different health conditions, including sinusitis.
For optimal results, combine 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 8 oz of warm water and a tablespoon of honey. The infection will disappear within a few days. You can also take a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar three times a day, regardless of whether you prefer taking it diluted or pure.
You can also try apple cider vinegar inhalations; combine half a cup of vinegar and half a liter of water. Heat the solution and inhale. Make sure your eyes are closed. Always use organic apple cider vinegar.
2. Turmeric
Curcumin gives turmeric its powerful benefits. This spice has the ability to fight off sinusitis. Curcumin heals the infection and clears airways.
As sinusitis is commonly caused by nasal inflammation and turmeric has strong anti-inflammatoryproperties, this spice can provide great results in the treatment of the infection.
3. Nasal saline rinse
Apple cider vinegar and turmeric will sure help you, but you can use nasal saline rinse as an additional sinusitis treatment.
Combine a quarter teaspoon of sea salt, a pinch of baking soda, a cap-full of food-grade hydrogen peroxide and a cup of warm water; another option is to use a simple solution of warm water and salt.
If you have not done a saline rinse before, ask someone to help you or follow detailed instructions. This may not be quite comfortable, but nasal saline rinse is sure one of the most efficient home remedies for sinusitis.
4. Oregano oil
Not all of you have oregano oil on hand, but it sure is effective. You can either ingest or inhale the oil. It provides an amazing treatment for sinusitis, improves digestion, fights infections and improves vital functions in the body, including liver and colon function.
Here are some useful tips on relieving sinusitis:
  • Raise your head while sleeping
  • Apply warm compress onto your face several times a day. Keep the compress on for 5 times
  • Increase the intake of vitamin C. Take up to 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C a day
  • Warm drinks help in moisturizing mucous membranes and wash excess mucus out of your lungs
  • Keep your house clean, especially your bedroom, and use a HEPA filter
Clear your sinuses using your thumb and tongue in 20 seconds
Press your tongue against your hard palate and place your thumb between your eyebrows. Apply mild pressure. Hold in this position for 20 seconds. Your sinuses will start draining.
Lisa DeStefano, an assistant professor at the Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, says that this method stimulates the vomer bone to rock back and forth, and thus loosens congestion, stimulating your sinuses to drain in 20 seconds. http://rawforbeauty.com

Your Sleep Position Reveals Secrets About Your Personality.

Did you know that Leonardo Da Vinci took 20-minute naps about every four hours to recharge himself? This helped with his intellectual energy. Charles Dickens would always sleep while facing north because he believed this would improve his creativity.
Most of us probably don’t have crazy sleeping habits like Mariah Carey. She surrounds herself with 15 humidifiers before she takes her naps. Even though it may sound crazy; everything we do about our sleeping habits tells a story about who we are and what we like.
You may not even be making the choice to sleep a certain way because you may be choosing it subconsciously. Who would have know that the secret to finding out about someone could be in the way they slumber?
So how do you sleep at night? Is it on your belly, side, or maybe your back? Let’s see what this has to say about you and your sleep positions…

Which one is your favorite position? Pick one and read on…

Log Position
Log position, in which the sleeper slumbers on their side, legs extended straight and arms by their sides, is the second most popular position. Though the position looks stiff, a person who sleeps like this is anything but rigid. Log sleepers are very social and easygoing people. Although they like conversing with all kinds of people, they definitely prefer running with an A-list crowd. They are also very trusting, which can sometimes make them seem a little gullible.

 Yearner Position
The yearner position looks a lot like the log. The sleeper snoozes on their sides, but their arms are stretched out in front of them, kind of like a mummy. Studies say that people who choose this position are usually very inviting and open. Yet, they can be suspicious and are often very cynical. Yearners are also as slow as turtles when it comes to making decisions, but once their minds are set, they’re as stubborn as a mule about changing it.

 Soldier Position
A person that sleeps in soldier position is one that sleeps on their back with their arms straight down at their side. Soldier sleepers also live up to their name, tending to be strong, silent types who don’t like a big fuss. They are very structured and take themselves, and those around them, very seriously. This also means that they have high expectations for themselves and others around them. They have a tendency to snore .

Freefaller Position

freefaller sleeper doses on their stomachs, head to the side, with their arms wrapped around a pillow. As the name suggests, freefaller sleepers have open, gregarious, and playful personalities. Yet they can be so to-the-point that it comes off as brash. They may seem free spirited most of the time, but freefallersleepers are also secretly anxious and crave control. Although they tend to be risk takers, they’re surprisingly sensitive to criticism as well.

 Starfish Position
The starfish position is the least popular slumbering style. Starfish sleepers lie on their backs with their legs stretched out, and their arms stretched up by their head, looking a bit like a cactus. They love hearing the problems of others and will go out their way to help when they can. People who snooze in this unconventional style are very loyal pals and make friendship a huge priority in their lives.

 Fetal Position
The fetal position, in which a person sleeps on their side with their legs curled up, is one of the most popular. In fact, according to a survey performed by sleep specialist Chris Idzikowski, PhD and author of the book Learn to Sleep Well, 41 percent of people sleep this way. If you fancy the fetal position while you catch your Z’s, you may seem to have a tough exterior, but are very shy and sensitive on the inside. They can also overthink a problem and worry unnecessarily.

THE SERENITY PRAYER

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY
TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE;
COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN;
AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

LIVING ONE DAY AT A TIME;
ENJOYING ONE MOMENT AT A TIME;
ACCEPTING HARDSHIPS AS THE PATHWAY TO PEACE;
TAKING, AS HE DID, THIS SINFUL WORLD
AS IT IS, NOT AS I WOULD HAVE IT;
TRUSTING THAT HE WILL MAKE ALL THINGS RIGHT
IF I SURRENDER TO HIS WILL;
THAT I MAY BE REASONABLY HAPPY IN THIS LIFE
AND SUPREMELY HAPPY WITH HIM
FOREVER IN THE NEXT.
AMEN.
