Don’t Go Overboard with the Accessories

In a “maximalist” world, it’s tempting to grab every fashion trend and piece of bling you can get your hands on. But if you truly want to look elegant, following the “less is more” philosophy is the best way to go.

Simple styles like those pearl earrings, gold hoops, an understated pendant necklace, or a slim gold cuff can be worn in countless different ways and will never go out of style. If you’re still itching for a bit more sparkle, go for just one piece, such as a statement necklace or earrings, and keep the rest of the look simple.

Keep Your Makeup in Mind

Do not want to overdo it with the makeup when creating a look of refined elegance. As with most things (in my opinion) the French have a great philosophy on this.

It’s all about creating a makeup look that enhances your natural beauty instead of covering it up. Just a light swipe of mascara, concealer, and lipstick or gloss will provide little touches that will highlight your features while still letting the world see the real you.

One great way to ensure a flawless face is by making sure you know your skin tone and undertone. Always make sure your foundation and other base products match your skin well to avoid that odd mismatched look. If you want to add a little boldness, go for one element such as winger eyeliner or a red lip, and keep the rest simple.

THE SERENITY PRAYER

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY
TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE;
COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN;
AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

LIVING ONE DAY AT A TIME;
ENJOYING ONE MOMENT AT A TIME;
ACCEPTING HARDSHIPS AS THE PATHWAY TO PEACE;
TAKING, AS HE DID, THIS SINFUL WORLD
AS IT IS, NOT AS I WOULD HAVE IT;
TRUSTING THAT HE WILL MAKE ALL THINGS RIGHT
IF I SURRENDER TO HIS WILL;
THAT I MAY BE REASONABLY HAPPY IN THIS LIFE
AND SUPREMELY HAPPY WITH HIM
FOREVER IN THE NEXT.
AMEN.
